Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited
On 3 December 2020, the Catholic Church in Australia established a new company, Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited, to oversee all safeguarding, child protection and professional standards in Australia, creating a more focused and streamlined model. National Response Protocol
The Catholic Church in Australia has also established a new, nationally consistent approach for handling concerns and allegations of abuse and other misconduct, creating the best outcomes for people bringing forward concerns, and those responsible for responding to them. Adopted by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) in November 2020, the new National Response Protocol comes into effect for all dioceses and ACBC member entities from 1 February 2021.
